Tradepoint Rail has been recognized for rail safety with the 2017 Jake Safety Award from the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA). The Jake Award is presented annually to North American shortline (Class III) railroads that have reported no injuries to the Federal Railroad Association.
“Tradepoint Rail is honored to receive this recognition from the ASLRRA for its commitment and subsequent results in keeping its shortline rail productive while adhering to the most stringent of industry safety standards,” said Mike Mullen, Chairman of Tradepoint Atlantic, the parent company of Tradepoint Rail. “Tradepoint Rail places a premium on the safety of its operations and practices, both onsite at Tradepoint Atlantic in helping Baltimore connect the world through trade, and as a leader within the shortline and regional railroad industry. We’re proud of the entire team and the great work they’ve accomplished this year in providing an accountable, safe and continuously improving work environment.”
Tradepoint Rail is a shortline railroad with 100 miles of track servicing the property, the largest privately owned interchange yards on the East Coast and direct access to two Class I railroads: CSX and Norfolk Southern.
