Maryland’s First Lady Yumi Hogan welcomed the Republic of Korea Navy to the Port of Baltimore in October. The Korean vessels, ROKS Chungmugong Yi Sun-Shin and ROKS Dae Cheon, berthed at the Cruise Maryland terminal as part of the Korean navy cruise training tour.
“As a Korean First Lady, I am so glad and honored to welcome the two ships, Chungmugong Yi Sun-Shin and Dae Cheon, to the Port of Baltimore,” First Lady Hogan said.
Consul General Dong-gi Kim, from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, added:
“Baltimore, known as Charm City, has a long history as a gateway to the Atlantic Ocean. Fort McHenry is a birthplace for the National Anthem and sits at the mouth of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The State of Maryland is also home to one of the most prestigious military schools, the United States Naval Academy. I would also like to extend warm greetings to all guests gathered here to support this friendship-promoting occasion.”
